Biography
Megumi Odaka is a Japanese actress and singer, born on 9 May 1972 in Yokohama. She won the Toho Cinderella Audition in 1987 and made her film debut the same year in Princess from the Moon (Taketori Monogatari), playing the blind girl Akeno. For this performance she received the Japanese Academy Award for Rookie of the Year in 1988.
Odaka is best known for portraying the psychic Miki Saegusa in six consecutive Heisei-era Godzilla films between 1989 and 1995: Godzilla vs. Biollante, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, Godzilla vs. Mothra, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla and Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. She had previously appeared in television series including Hana no Asuka-gumi! (1988). She is the niece of actress Mayumi Shimizu.
