Biography
Melanie Coombs is a producer specialising in animation and live-action features. She trained in media arts production at the University of Technology Sydney.
She produced the stop-motion short Harvie Krumpet (2003), which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film, and the feature Mary and Max (2009), which received the Annecy Grand Cristal. Both were directed by Adam Elliot. She later served as co-producer and production supervisor on Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022).
Coombs has also produced the documentary Graceful Girls (2015) and the feature The Death and Life of Otto Bloom (2016). She is a member of the Animation Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and an ambassador for Screenrights.
