Biography

Melody London is a film editor. She began her career editing Jim Jarmusch’s Stranger Than Paradise (1984), on which she also worked as sound editor. She subsequently edited Jarmusch’s Down by Law (1986) and Mystery Train (1989), as well as segments of Coffee and Cigarettes (1987 and 2004).

London has edited numerous other feature films, including New York, I Love You (2008), Novocaine (2001), Exposed (2016), Risk (2017) and Generation Um... (2012). Her documentary credits include Heart of a Dog (2015) and work with Laura Poitras. She holds an MFA from New York University and has taught film editing at NYU, CalArts and other institutions.
