Biography

Michael Carlin is an Australian production designer. He began working in film in the early 1990s, with credits including art direction on Backbeat (1994).

Carlin has designed productions including What a Girl Wants (2003), The Last King of Scotland (2006), Mr. Bean's Holiday (2007), In Bruges (2008), The Duchess (2008), Enola Holmes (2020) and Enola Holmes 2 (2022). He received an Academy Award nomination for Best Art Direction for The Duchess, shared with set decorator Rebecca Alleway.
