Biography
Michael Champion (born Michael Edward Campbell) was an American actor and musician. Born on 3 November 1946 in Anderson, Indiana, he began his career in Detroit as a singer and songwriter under the name Mike Campbell. He released a single with the band The Abstract Reality in 1967 and later performed with Scorpion, contributing to their 1969 album and co-writing songs on Meat Loaf's 1971 debut album Stoney & Meatloaf.
Champion transitioned to acting in the late 1970s, appearing under his stage name from 1979 onwards. He is known for roles including Casey in Beverly Hills Cop (1984), a prehistoric man in History of the World: Part I (1981), Helm in Total Recall (1990) and Jack Thorpe in Toy Soldiers (1991). His television credits include appearances in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Knight Rider, ALF and The Flash. He died on 16 June 2021 in Casper, Wyoming.
