Biography
Michael Chaves is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, editor and visual effects artist. Born on 3 November 1984 in Los Angeles, California, he began his career directing short films, including The Maiden (2016), and the television series Chase Champion. He also directed the Billie Eilish music video "Bury a Friend" (2019).
Chaves made his feature debut with the horror film The Curse of La Llorona (2019). He has since directed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021), The Nun II (2023) and The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025), the latter three entries in The Conjuring Universe, all produced by James Wan.
