Biography
Michael Lombard, born Michael Labombarda, was an American actor. He was born on 8 August 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, and died on 13 August 2020.
His parents, both from Giovinazzo, Bari, Italy, had emigrated and settled in Gravesend, Brooklyn. Lombard had a substantial stage career. He received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play for Otherwise Engaged in 1977 and won an Obie Award for Distinguished Performance by an Actor for What's Wrong With This Picture? in 1991. He also appeared in several Broadway productions, including revivals of Awake and Sing! and Inherit the Wind.
On screen, Lombard appeared in films including Network (1976), Prizzi's Honor (1985) as Rosario Filargi "Finlay", Crocodile Dundee (1986), Pet Sematary (1989), The Devil's Advocate (1997) and The Thomas Crown Affair (1999). His television credits include guest roles in Miami Vice, The Cosby Show, Law & Order and its spin-offs.
