Biography
Michael Moritzen is a Danish actor, theatre director and writer. Born on 2 November 1954 in Copenhagen, he is the son of actor Henning Moritzen. He trained as a director at Statens Teaterskole in 1978 and as an actor at the drama school of Aarhus Theatre in 1981.
He was attached to Aarhus Theatre for the 1981–82 season before working freelance. Moritzen has appeared in films including Dansen med Regitze (1989), De nøgne træer (1991), The Idiots (1998) and Daisy Diamond (2007), and in television series such as The Killing (2007) as Morten Weber, The Bridge (2013) and Borgen (2022). He has also held leadership roles in Danish theatre, including head of the acting programme at Statens Teaterskole (1999–2000) and artistic director of Folketeatret (2001).
