Biography
Michelle Hurd is an American actress. She was born in New York City on 21 December 1966 and is the daughter of actor Hugh Hurd. She graduated from Saint Ann's School in 1984 and Boston University in 1988, and trained at the Alvin Ailey School and London's National Theatre.
Hurd has worked extensively in theatre, with credits including the 1996 Broadway production of Getting Away with Murder and other stage roles such as Othello and Looking for the Pony. She met her husband, actor Garret Dillahunt, while performing in 900 Oneonta at Circle Repertory Company; they married in 2007.
On television she is known for playing Detective Monique Jeffries in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999–2001) and recurring roles in series including Blindspot (2015–2018) and Gossip Girl (2007–2008). She portrayed Raffi Musiker in Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023) and appeared in the film Anyone but You (2023). In 2025 she was elected secretary-treasurer of SAG-AFTRA.
