Biography
Mike Nussbaum was an American actor and director. Born on 29 December 1923, he died on 23 December 2023 in Chicago, Illinois.
His acting career began in community theatre in the 1950s. He worked for many years in an extermination business before pursuing acting full time. Nussbaum appeared in numerous plays by David Mamet on and off Broadway and in Chicago, originating roles including Teach in the 1975 premiere of American Buffalo and George Aaronow in the 1984 Broadway production of Glengarry Glen Ross. He received a Drama Desk Award for the latter.
On screen, Nussbaum appeared in films including House of Games (1987), Fatal Attraction (1987), Field of Dreams (1989) and Men in Black (1997), in which he played Gentle Rosenburg. His television credits include episodes of The X-Files, Frasier and Early Edition.
