Biography
Ming-Na Wen is an American actress. She was born on 20 November 1963 on Coloane Island, Macau, and trained at Carnegie Mellon University, graduating with a BFA in theatre in 1986.
Her breakthrough film role came in The Joy Luck Club (1993). She voiced the title character in Disney’s Mulan (1998) and its sequel Mulan II (2004), and appeared in the 2020 live-action remake. Other notable credits include Dr Jing-Mei Chen in ER (1995–2004), Melinda May in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013–2020), and Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian (2019–) and The Book of Boba Fett (2021–2022).
Wen received an Annie Award for her voice work in Mulan. She was named a Disney Legend in 2019 and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2023.
