Biography
Minoru Yada is a Japanese actor and voice actor. Born on 27 April 1931 in Tokyo, he began his career as a child singer in 1939 and later worked as a child actor. He graduated from the Haiyuza Theater Company's actor training school in 1953 and has been active in voice work since the early days of Japanese animation.
He is known for voice roles including Niga in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984), an old man in Porco Rosso (1992), Hemulen in Comet in Moominland (1992), Silas in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1980), and the referee in Doraemon: Nobita and the Galaxy Super-express (1996). He also voiced Keishichi Hayashi in Tomorrow's Joe (1970).
In 2020 he received the Merit Award at the 14th Seiyu Awards.
