Biography
Monique Prim is a French film editor. She began her career in the early 1970s as an assistant editor on films including The Mother and the Whore (1973), Don't Touch the White Woman! (1974), The Beast (1975) and The Big Feast (1973). She worked as lead editor from 1976 onwards.
Prim collaborated with director Jean-Jacques Beineix on several films. She co-edited his debut feature Diva (1981) with Marie-Josèphe Yoyotte, and edited The Moon in the Gutter (1983) and Betty Blue (1986). She received a César Award nomination for Best Editing for Betty Blue in 1987. Her other editing credits include La passerelle (1988), Tant qu'il y aura des femmes (1987), Sous les pieds des femmes (1997), Passeurs de rêves (2000) and Poil de carotte (2003).
Born on 3 November 1947, Prim continued working on feature films, shorts and television productions until at least 2006.
