Biography
Morris Chestnut is an American actor. Born on 1 January 1969 in Cerritos, California, he studied finance and drama at California State University, Northridge. His first professional acting role was in an episode of Freddy's Nightmares in 1990, and his feature film debut came the following year as Ricky Baker in Boyz n the Hood.
Chestnut gained further recognition for roles in films including Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995), G.I. Jane (1997), The Best Man (1999) and its sequel The Best Man Holiday (2013), The Brothers (2001), Like Mike (2002), The Game Plan (2007), The Call (2013) and Kick-Ass 2 (2013). On television he has appeared in series such as V (2009), Nurse Jackie and Rosewood.
He has received multiple NAACP Image Award nominations and wins, and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2022.
