Biography
Munya Chawawa is a British-Zimbabwean actor, comedian and writer. Born Munyaradzi Oliver Chawawa on 29 December 1992 in Derby, England, he spent part of his childhood in Zimbabwe before returning to the UK. He studied psychology at the University of Sheffield.
Chawawa first gained attention through online satirical sketches and characters during the COVID-19 pandemic. His writing credits include the Netflix mockumentary Death to 2020 (2020). Acting roles include Choronzon in The Sandman (2022) and the Restaurant Crooner in Rye Lane (2023). He has also appeared as himself on panel shows including Taskmaster and Would I Lie to You?.
