Biography
Murray Matheson, also credited as Sidney Murray Matheson, was an Australian actor. Born in Casterton, Victoria, he grew up on a sheep station and began his stage career in Melbourne in the early 1930s. He later performed in London from 1937 and made his New York debut in 1950.
Matheson appeared in films from 1945, including The Way to the Stars (1945) and Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing (1955). He became a frequent guest star on American television in series such as The Twilight Zone (1959), Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955), Get Smart (1965), Hawaii Five-O (1969) and Banacek, and had roles in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1967) and Twilight Zone: The Movie (1983). His stage work continued until 1982.
He died in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, in 1985.
