Biography
Naomi Ruth Stevens (1925–2018) was an American character actress who appeared in nearly 100 film and television roles from the 1950s to the 1980s. She frequently played mothers, landladies, neighbours or gossips, often with ethnic or comic elements.
Stevens began performing in vaudeville as a child and trained at the Grace Waugh Bowman School of Theatricals. She appeared in films including The Apartment (1960) as Mrs. Mildred Dreyfuss, Valley of the Dolls (1967) and Hard Times (1975), and made guest appearances in series such as The Twilight Zone, Perry Mason, Hogan's Heroes, Taxi and Vega$, where she had a recurring role as Sgt. Bella Archer. Her final credited role was in Days of Our Lives in 1989.
