Biography
Nelly Quettier is a French film editor. Born in 1957 in Argenteuil, she studied film for a year at Vincennes University (Paris VIII) in 1977 and began her career working as an assistant director before becoming an editor.
She has edited nearly all of Leos Carax’s feature films since Mauvais Sang (1986), including The Lovers on the Bridge (1991), Holy Motors (2012) and Annette (2021). She has also worked regularly with Claire Denis on films such as Beau Travail (1999) and Trouble Every Day (2001), and with Alice Rohrwacher on Happy as Lazzaro (2018) and La Chimera (2023).
Quettier received the European Film Award for Best Editor in 1992 for The Lovers on the Bridge and the César Award for Best Editing in 2022 for Annette. She lives in Paris and is a member of the French Film Academy, the European Film Academy and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
