Biography
Nic Knowland is a British cinematographer. He was born in Devizes, Wiltshire, in 1941.
Knowland has worked extensively in film and television since the 1970s. His credits include The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle (1980), Institute Benjamenta, or This Dream That One Calls Human Life (1995), Berberian Sound Studio (2012) and The Duke of Burgundy (2015), the last two directed by Peter Strickland. He has also contributed to stage productions such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (1999) and Cats (1998).
Knowland is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers and has received a BAFTA award among other nominations.
