Biography

Nicholas Hammond is an American-Australian actor and writer. Born on 15 May 1950 in Washington, D.C., he made his Broadway debut at the age of eleven in The Complaisant Lover (1961) and his film debut in Lord of the Flies (1963). He studied at the Landon School and Princeton University.

Hammond is best known for playing Friedrich von Trapp in The Sound of Music (1965) and Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the 1970s television series The Amazing Spider-Man and its three theatrical films released outside North America. His later credits include roles in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles (2001), Stealth (2005) and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019), as well as appearances in series such as Farscape, Murder, She Wrote and Dallas.
