Biography
Nick Jones is an American playwright, screenwriter and television producer. Born in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1978, he holds a BA in Literature and Creative Writing from Bard College and a Lila Acheson Wallace Playwriting degree from the Juilliard School.
He began his career in theatre, writing and performing in the puppet rock musical Jollyship the Whiz-Bang (2008) and the plays The Coward (2010) and Trevor (2013). The latter received multiple Ovation Awards and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Playwriting in its 2015 production.
In television, Jones worked as a writer and producer on the first four seasons of Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019) and served as supervising producer, co-executive producer and writer on GLOW (2017–2018). He was co-executive producer on the first season of Ramy (2019). His television work has earned Writers Guild of America and Primetime Emmy nominations.
