Biography

Nigel Marchant is a British producer. Born on 1 October 1972, he began his career in the 1990s in production roles including unit production manager before moving into producing.

He has worked extensively with Carnival Films. Marchant served as producer and later executive producer on the television series Downton Abbey (2010–2015) and its feature films Downton Abbey (2019), Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022) and Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025). He was also executive producer on The Last Kingdom (2015–2022) and its film The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die (2023), as well as Belgravia (2020), The Day of the Jackal (2024) and other series.

Marchant received a Primetime Emmy Award in 2011 for his work on Downton Abbey.
