Biography
Norman Savage (1930–1973) was an English film editor. He began his career as an assistant editor on David Lean's Hobson's Choice (1954) and served as first assistant editor to Anne V. Coates on Lean's Lawrence of Arabia (1962).
Savage was credited as editor on several feature films, including Doctor Zhivago (1965), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing; The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969); and Ryan's Daughter (1970), for which he was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Editing. He also edited Lady Caroline Lamb (1972). Savage died of leukaemia while working on the latter film.
