Biography
Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine is an American actor, playwright, photographer and documentarian. Born in 1967 in Hanover, New Hampshire, to Ugandan parents, he was educated at the University of Virginia and received an MFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. He has also studied at the Moscow Art Theatre and the Royal National Theatre in London.
Mwine began his career in theatre, including a national tour of Six Degrees of Separation. His television credits include recurring roles in Heroes (2006), Treme (2010), The Knick (2014) and The Chi (2018). Film appearances include Blood Diamond (2006). He portrayed Freddy Fasano in the 2025 Apple TV+ series Smoke and has appeared in Dead Ringers (2023) and The Lincoln Lawyer (2022). Mwine has also directed and produced documentaries, including Memories of Love Returned.
