Biography
Oscar Rosander (25 July 1901 – 7 May 1971) was a Swedish film editor. Born in Eksjö, Jönköpings län, he studied modern languages at Uppsala University and later worked in film dubbing and editing for the studio Svensk Filmindustri.
He edited more than 100 feature films and had an extended collaboration on twelve films with director Ingmar Bergman, beginning with Bergman's debut Crisis (1946) and including Smiles of a Summer Night (1955), Wild Strawberries (1957), The Magician (1958), The Virgin Spring (1960) and The Devil's Eye (1960). In his autobiography, Bergman credited Rosander with teaching him the possibilities of editing.
