Biography
Otto Waldis (born Otto Glucksmann-Blum, also credited as Otto Blum) was an Austrian-American character actor. Born in Vienna in 1901, he began his stage career in the 1920s after studying naval engineering and made his film debut in Fritz Lang's M (1931). He emigrated to the United States in 1940 to escape Nazi persecution.
In Hollywood he appeared in numerous films and television series from the late 1940s to the 1960s, often in roles with a German or European background. His credits include the Concierge in Letter from an Unknown Woman (1948), Pohl in Judgment at Nuremberg (1961), a doctor in Hogan's Heroes (1965) and Dr Heinrich Von Loeb in Attack of the 50 Foot Woman (1958). He died in Hollywood in 1974.
