Biography
Pamela Salem (also credited as Pamela Fortunee Salem) was a British actress. Born in Bombay in 1944, she studied at Heidelberg University and the Central School of Speech and Drama in London before beginning her career in repertory theatre in Chesterfield and York.
She appeared in numerous British television series, including multiple roles in Doctor Who (as Toos, Rachel and the voice of Xoanon), EastEnders (as Joanne Francis) and the children's fantasy Into the Labyrinth (as Belor). Her film credits include The First Great Train Robbery (1978) and Gods and Monsters (1998). She is best known for playing Miss Moneypenny opposite Sean Connery in the 1983 Bond film Never Say Never Again.
Salem later worked in the United States, with guest roles in series such as ER and The West Wing. She died in Surfside, Florida, in 2024.
