Biography
Pato Guzman was a Chilean production designer, art director and producer. Born in Chile in 1933, he moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1950s and began his career at Desilu Studios as a sketch artist and assistant art director, later working on series including I Love Lucy.
He served as art director on the pilot episode of the original Star Trek series. Guzman collaborated extensively with director Paul Mazursky, providing production design for films including Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969), An Unmarried Woman (1978), The In-Laws (1979), Moscow on the Hudson (1984), Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986) and Scenes from a Mall (1991); he also acted as co-producer on several later Mazursky projects. He died in Santiago in 1991.
