Biography

Paul Currie is an Australian producer and director. Born on 2 March 1968 in Melbourne, he studied at the Melbourne Institute of Technology, graduating with a degree in applied science majoring in drama and marketing. He entered the film industry at age 21 and received his first producer credit on the 1995 action film Under the Gun.

Currie directed and produced the 2004 feature One Perfect Day, for which he received the Screen Directors' Association of Australia award for Best Debut Director. He has produced films including Hacksaw Ridge (2016), 2:22 (2017, which he also directed), Blacklight (2022), The King's Daughter (2022), Ricky Stanicky (2024) and Better Man (2024). He co-founded the Reach Foundation charity and was nominated as Australian of the Year in 2005.
