Biography

Paul Donachie is a British cinematographer. Born in Liverpool in 1961, he began his career in the camera department, working as a focus puller on the Hornblower television films in the late 1990s.

He has served as an A-camera and Steadicam operator on numerous high-profile productions, including The Other Boleyn Girl (2008), Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013), Tulip Fever (2017) and El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019). On the series Better Call Saul (2015–2022) he worked as A-camera and Steadicam operator across dozens of episodes before taking on director of photography duties for several instalments.

Donachie was director of photography on four episodes of the Apple TV series Pluribus (2025), sharing duties with Marshall Adams. He is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers.
