Biography
Peter Kay is an English comedian, actor and writer. Born Peter John Kay on 2 July 1973 in Farnworth, Lancashire, he studied media performance at the University of Salford.
He is best known for creating and starring in the BBC sitcoms Phoenix Nights (2001–2002) and Peter Kay's Car Share (2015–2018). Kay has also appeared in films including 24 Hour Party People (2002) and voiced PC (later Chief Inspector) Mackintosh in the Wallace & Gromit features The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005) and Vengeance Most Fowl (2024).
His stand-up tours have broken attendance records and he has received multiple awards, including two BAFTA Television Awards.
