Biography
Peter New is a Canadian actor and voice actor. Born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia, he began acting in grade nine, joined the Vancouver Youth Theatre at 16 and founded the comedy troupe The Legend of Bonefish at 19. After a decade performing in clubs and cabarets, he moved into film and television.
New is known for voice roles including Big Macintosh in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (2010–2019) and Sunil Nevla in Littlest Pet Shop (2012–2016). Live-action credits include Riverdale (2017) as Bobby, The Flash (2014) as Widgick, Supernatural (2005) as Jay and 1922 (2017) as Counterman. He appears as Big Wayne in the 2026 film Backrooms.
He has also written, produced and directed independent work, and received a Leo Award for screenwriting. In 2011 he served as acting mentor at the Maisha Film Lab in Uganda.
