Biography

Peter Przygodda (1941–2011) was a German film editor and occasional director. He began working in film in the late 1960s and became a freelance editor around 1970. He is best known for his long collaboration with director Wim Wenders, editing films including The American Friend (1977), Paris, Texas (1984), Wings of Desire (1987), Until the End of the World (1991) and Don't Come Knocking (2005).

Przygodda received the German Film Award (Filmband in Gold) for editing Wrong Move (1975) and The American Friend (1977). He taught at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München and the Internationale Filmschule Köln, and was a founding member of the Deutsche Filmakademie in 2003. In 2010 he was awarded a star on the Boulevard der Stars in Berlin.
