Biography
Phil Hunter is a British television producer. Born and raised in the North East of England, he began his career as a runner on Catherine Cookson dramas before his first paid role on Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights.
Hunter has worked in production and script editing on series including EastEnders, Holby City, Hustle and Doctors. He produced ten episodes of Midsomer Murders (series 17 and 18, 2015–2016). He was executive producer on five series of Vera (2017–2022) and co-producer on Criminal Record (2024). In 2023 he joined Tall Story Pictures as executive producer, working on Grace (2025–2026). Earlier roles include head of production at Rollem Productions and production executive at Mammoth Screen.
