Biography
Phillip Kwok Chui, also credited as Phillip Chung-Fung Kwok, Kwok Chun-Fung and Kuo Jan-Feng, is a Taiwanese actor, martial artist and stuntman based in Hong Kong. Born on 21 October 1951 in Taipei, he began his career as a circus acrobat and Peking Opera performer before working as a stuntman and taking leading roles.
He rose to prominence as a member of the Venom Mob, appearing in numerous Shaw Brothers Studio martial arts films in the 1970s and 1980s. Notable credits include The Five Venoms (1978), Crippled Avengers (1978), Kid with the Golden Arm (1979) and Master of the Flying Guillotine (1976). He played Mad Dog in John Woo's Hard Boiled (1992) and General Chang in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997).
Kwok has also worked extensively as an action director and stunt coordinator on films including Hard Boiled, The Phantom Lover (1995) and Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001).
