Biography
Pierre Aïm is a French cinematographer. Born in Paris on 31 January 1959, he graduated from the École nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière in 1981. He began his career as a camera assistant and operator on feature films before working as director of photography on short films, including early collaborations with Mathieu Kassovitz.
Aïm is best known for his work on Kassovitz’s Métisse (1993) and La Haine (1995). He has since photographed more than seventy feature films across a range of genres, including Paris, je t'aime (2006), Welcome to the Sticks (2008), Polisse (2011) and The Contractor (2022). He is a member of the Association Française des Directeurs de la Photographie Cinématographique (AFC) and has received several César nominations for cinematography.
