Biography
Preston Lockwood (born Reginald Herbert Lockwood, 30 October 1912 – 24 April 1996) was an English actor. He began his career in radio with the BBC Repertory Company and was noted for voicing Dennis the Dachshund in the Children's Hour series Toytown.
Lockwood appeared in many television productions. He played Butterfield the butler in Jeeves and Wooster and Reverend Pottle in the first episode of The Vicar of Dibley (1994). Other credits include Poldark, Doctor Who (Snakedance), Tenko, All Creatures Great and Small, Miss Marple, Inspector Morse and the 1989 BBC adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader as Coriakin.
His film roles include appearances in Time Bandits (1981), The Black Windmill (1974) and Ransom (1974).
