Biography
Rachel Ticotin is an American actress and dancer. Born on 1 November 1958 in the Bronx, New York City, she trained in ballet from a young age and performed with Ballet Hispanico. She worked as a production assistant on several films before making her acting debut in King of the Gypsies (1978) and gaining notice as Isabella in Fort Apache, The Bronx (1981). She later earned a BA in English from Columbia University, graduating in 2019.
Ticotin is known for her film roles as Melina in Total Recall (1990) and Sandra in Falling Down (1993). Other credits include Con Air (1997), for which she received an ALMA Award nomination, Man on Fire (2004) and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005). On television she has appeared in Lost (2004), Law & Order: LA (2010–2011) and Grey's Anatomy (2005).
She was married to actor David Caruso from 1984 to 1987 and has been married to actor Peter Strauss since 1998.
