Biography
Randee Heller is an American actress. Born on 10 June 1947 in Brooklyn, New York City, she studied theatre at Adelphi University, graduating in 1969. She began her career on the New York stage, appearing in an Off-Broadway production of Godspell and playing Rizzo in the Broadway musical Grease.
Heller is known for her role as Lucille LaRusso, the mother of Daniel LaRusso, in The Karate Kid (1984) and The Karate Kid Part III (1989). She reprised the part in the series Cobra Kai (2018). Earlier, she played Alice, one of the first recurring lesbian characters on American television, in the sitcom Soap (1977–1981).
She had a recurring role as Ida Blankenship on Mad Men (2010), for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. Her other television credits include appearances in Grey's Anatomy, The Mentalist and Modern Family.
