Biography
Raney Aronson-Rath is a producer and the editor-in-chief and executive producer of FRONTLINE, PBS’s flagship investigative documentary series produced at GBH in Boston. She joined the series in 2007 as a senior producer, was named deputy executive producer in 2012, and became executive producer in 2015. She also leads the GBH Documentary Unit.
Aronson-Rath produced the feature documentary 20 Days in Mariupol (2023), made in partnership with the Associated Press, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. She has executive produced other FRONTLINE theatrical releases including For Sama (2019) and 2000 Meters to Andriivka (2025). Under her leadership, FRONTLINE has received numerous awards in broadcast journalism, including Emmys, Peabodys and duPont-Columbia awards.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. Prior to FRONTLINE she worked at ABC News and The Wall Street Journal.
