Biography
Ray Danton (born Raymond Caplan; also credited as Raymond Danton or Raymond Kaplan) was an American actor and director. Born in New York City on 19 September 1931, he trained at Carnegie Tech and began his career as a child radio actor on NBC's Let's Pretend before making his film debut in Chief Crazy Horse (1955).
He is known for lead roles in the screen biographies The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond (1960) and The George Raft Story (1961). Danton later directed episodes of numerous television series, including Cagney & Lacey (from 1982), Magnum, P.I., Quincy, M.E. and Dynasty.
He was married to actress Julie Adams from 1954 until their divorce in 1981. Danton died in Los Angeles on 11 February 1992.
