Biography
Raymond Huntley was an English actor who appeared in dozens of British films from the 1930s to the 1970s. He is also known for his television role as the family solicitor Sir Geoffrey Dillon in the ITV series Upstairs, Downstairs (1971–1975).
Born in King's Norton, Worcestershire, Huntley made his stage debut at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre in 1922 and his London debut in 1924. He played Count Dracula in the 1927 London stage adaptation of the novel and later appeared in other West End and Broadway productions.
His film roles include Mr. Hoylake in Room at the Top (1958), Joseph Whemple in The Mummy (1959), Nathaniel Beenstock in Hobson's Choice (1954), and Mr. Wix in Passport to Pimlico (1949). He died in London in 1990.
