Biography
Rebecca Root is an English actress and voice coach. She was born on 10 May 1969 in Woking, Surrey, and trained as an actor at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, graduating in 1990. Early television and theatre work includes an appearance in Keeping Up Appearances (1990).
After a period working as a voice coach, Root returned to acting with the leading role in the BBC Two sitcom Boy Meets Girl (2015–2016). Film roles include The Danish Girl (2015), Colette (2018) and Mayfield in The Sisters Brothers (2018). Other credits include The Queen's Gambit (2020) and Heartstopper (2022).
