Biography
Ric Young is a Malaysian retired actor, also credited early in his career as Eric Young. Born in Kuala Lumpur in 1944, he began performing in radio sketches as a child and trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London under a King George VI Coronation Scholarship.
He appeared in over 100 films and television programmes from his debut in 1958, working primarily in the United Kingdom before moving to the United States. Young is known for roles including Kao Kan in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984), the Interrogator in The Last Emperor (1987), Bruce Lee's father in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993), General Chang Jing Wu in Seven Years in Tibet (1997), Mr Kwai in The Transporter (2002), and a Chinese General in American Gangster (2007). He was a series regular on Alias (2001–04) as Dr Zhang Lee.
