Biography
Richard Boden (born 4 January 1953) is a British television director and producer. He began his career at the BBC in the 1970s, progressing through production roles before directing light entertainment programmes from 1983. He later served as Head of Comedy at Carlton and Central Television until going freelance in 2001.
Boden is known for directing episodes of 'Allo 'Allo!, Blackadder Goes Forth (1989) and Blackadder's Christmas Carol (1988), as well as series including 2point4 Children and Upstart Crow (2016–2018). He has also produced The IT Crowd (from 2008), Life of Riley and Motherland. Blackadder Goes Forth received a BAFTA Television Award for Best Comedy Series.
