Biography
Richard Chaves is an American actor. He is best known for portraying Jorge 'Poncho' Ramirez in the 1987 science fiction film Predator and Lieutenant Colonel Paul Ironhorse in the television series War of the Worlds (1988–1989).
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Chaves served as an infantryman in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he studied acting and co-wrote the stage play Tracers with fellow veterans, which helped launch his screen career in the early 1980s.
His other credits include roles in Witness (1985), Miami Vice, MacGyver, L.A. Law, Babylon 5 and Star Trek: Voyager.
