Biography
Richard Day is an American television writer, producer and director. He began working in television as a writer in the late 1980s and has contributed to series including Roseanne, Ellen, The Drew Carey Show, Spin City, Mad About You, The Larry Sanders Show, Dinosaurs and Aliens in America.
Day wrote and produced episodes of Arrested Development (2003), including receiving story credit on the season-three finale. He has received Primetime Emmy nominations for writing and producing on Arrested Development, The Larry Sanders Show and Mad About You.
In film, Day wrote and directed the independent features Girls Will Be Girls (2003) and Straight-Jacket (2004), the latter adapted from his own off-Broadway play.
