Biography
Richard Gibbs (also credited as Richard Kendall Gibbs) is an American film and television composer and music producer. Born on 5 December 1955 in Bay Village, Ohio, he studied composition at Berklee College of Music and was a keyboardist in the band Oingo Boingo from 1980 to 1984. He later worked as a session musician for numerous artists.
Gibbs composed the score for the first season of the animated series The Simpsons (1989). He served as musical director for The Tracey Ullman Show and Muppets Tonight, and composed the theme for the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series. His film credits include Say Anything... (1989), Doctor Dolittle (1998), 10 Things I Hate About You (1999), Big Momma's House (2000) and Queen of the Damned (2002).
