Biography
Richard Harrington is a Welsh actor of stage and screen. Born on 12 March 1975 in Merthyr Tydfil, he trained in Welsh-medium education and speaks Welsh as a second language.
He is known for his lead role as DCI Tom Mathias in the bilingual crime drama Hinterland (also known as Y Gwyll, 2013–2016) and for playing Allan Woodcourt in the 2005 BBC adaptation of Bleak House. Other television credits include Poldark (2015–2016), Spooks (2002), Hustle (2004) and The Crown (2016). He has appeared in stage productions including tours with Fiction Factory and received BAFTA Cymru Awards for his performances in Dafydd and Hinterland.
