Biography
Richard Jordan (born Robert Anson Jordan Jr.) was an American actor. Born in New York City on 19 July 1937, he died in Los Angeles on 30 August 1993. A long-time member of the New York Shakespeare Festival, he appeared in numerous Off-Broadway and Broadway productions.
Jordan made his screen debut in the early 1970s and became known for roles including Francis in Logan's Run (1976), Frederick in Interiors (1978), Duncan Idaho in Dune (1984), Howard Prescott in The Secret of My Success (1987), and Dr. Jeffrey Pelt in The Hunt for Red October (1990). His final film appearance was as Brigadier General Lewis A. Armistead in Gettysburg (1993).
He also worked extensively in television, including the miniseries Captains and the Kings (1976) and the film The Bunker (1981), in which he portrayed Albert Speer.
